Claire’s in studio newborn session included the whole family, and I am so happy her older brothers wanted in on the action! Claire’s family planned this session out perfectly, to ensure it would be a fun and laid back experience. We started off with the shots that included the whole family. We wanted to get the boys in and out, so it would be calm and quiet for Claire’s solo shots. Mom ended up really appreciating this way of doing things, as she hadn’t had many quiet moments since giving birth. Claire’s brothers have the sweetest smiles! They were a joy to photograph, it is always important to include the older siblings in a newborn session. I think it is super cool to have that memory as the kids grow up together! The overhead shot of the three kids is one of my favorite ways to photograph several kids at once. It gives a unique perspective and helps the kids sit still for a close up photo.
We knew we wanted soft colors for Claire’s newborn session. The soft browns and creamy whites I used throughout this session are timeless and will hold up through the years. I love that mom and the boys kept it simple with soft, solid colored clothing. Dad’s patterned shirt with burgundy throughout tie in perfectly to Claire’s dress in their family photo. It really is all in the small details when it comes to choosing outfits for multiple people. Every item I chose to use in Claire’s in studio newborn session was intentional and fit the overall theme. I always like to include a sentimental or special detail in newborn sessions. For Claire’s session, the idea came straight from her big brothers! The boys like to call Claire, “clairebear”. When I heard this I knew we had to use a bear bonnet and a bear as props for her session. It turned out so special!
As we get into fall season here in Texas, I couldn’t help but put together an adorable fall themed set up for Claire’s session as well. Check out those adorable little pumpkins beside the crate holding Claire. I also loved tying in another plaid pattern into her session with the use of the red blanket.
