This Fort Worth newborn baby boy was such a joy during his newborn session in my studio.
Luka came into my studio for his newborn session not very long after I did their maternity session! He couldn’t wait for his close up! Something I really enjoy during newborn sessions is when the dad is willing to be shirtless during a few images with his newborn. This evokes thoughts of those first moments of skin to skin bonding when your baby is born. It’s extra visually interesting if you also have tattoos! From a photographer’s point of view, the more detail, the more interesting!
For Luka’s newborn session, we went with a gray backdrop, which really complemented his skin and allowed him to be the star of the show! Soft neutrals, and soft textured fabrics are always so cozy in a newborn session. We also went with neutral clothing for mom and dad to fit the theme. Luka even gave us a few smiles at his newborn session- a rare occurrence! Whenever this happens, I feel like I’ve gotten THE shot! He was also quite the aware little fella, and gave the camera a ton of eye contact. He eventually drifted off to sleep, and we got some really sweet images during that time as well. Those rare awake images of newborns tend to be parents favorites, as well as mine. And, of course, I always make sure to get a few close-ups of babies fingers and toes and essential detail shot at every newborn session, as they are only that small for such a short period of time, and we want to remember at all!
If you want to see more of this little family, I posted their maternity session a few blog posts back. So cool to see your family grow!
