Palmer’s newborn session was laid back and so much fun to shoot! I love that mom and dad chose to use mom’s maiden name, Palmer, as their baby boys name- so precious! I thought that was such a special and unique way to honor her family name. Palmer may be a newborn, but as newborns do, he is already growing so fast! We want to be able to document his growth from his newborn session to his upcoming milestone sessions. To do this, I decided to take Palmer’s photo with an adorable stuffed elephant during each session so they can look back on all of the sessions and easily see the difference. We also shot an image of mom and dad holding Palmer in their hands, another creative way to show just how small they are! It really is incredible how fast newborns grow and change!
Palmer’s parents are super laid back and came well prepared for their son’s newborn session. Palmer’s mom knew that she wanted a variety of bean bag newborn poses and prop shots using buckets and blankets. I love when a client comes with a vision and we can make magic using the wide variety of colors and textures of props that I have at my studio. A personal favorite prop of mine is that cute little bear ear bonnet- perfect for a baby boy! For Palmer’s session we kept him wrapped for all of the images, making sure to still get all of the baby rolls photographed. Naked baby photos are totally optional and totally up to the personal preference of baby’s parents. I love showing that you can still get every detail even while keeping the little one wrapped up.
