dear quinn-
your timing could not have been more perfect. you must have known this month’s letter was going to be written to you – which is why you have been so full of it lately. you wanted to make sure i had plenty to say!
i just finished scrubbing the diaper creme off the carpet that you squirted everywhere during naptime. when i opened your door to get you up from nap time you were sound asleep with the light on in your room and you had diaper creme all over you and it was all over the floor. i asked you what happened and you gave me your standard response – ‘know’ as in ‘i don’t know’. but after a little pushing you said to me ‘opened it up and squeezed it all over, sorry mommy’ HA! thank goodness you are cute.
your other favorite past time instead of taking a nap is to pull all of the wipes out of the wipes container and throw them all over your room! sometimes you are kind enough to try and shove them all back into the container. the other day daddy opened your door to wake you up but instead found you awake, again with the light on and up to no good. this time you had climbed up on your dresser and reached over and pulled your letters from your name off the wall. you were very proud of yourself for accomplishing such a great task. you even willingly showed both mommy and daddy how you were able to get up on your dresser.
you are trouble mister and you know it! when you have done something that you know you are not supposed to do you will come up to me and in the sweetest voice possible say ‘sorry mommy, sorry! kiss?’ how can i refuse that?
you started school this year and seem to really enjoy it! your teachers say that your are very quiet and well-behavied. you must save all your mischief for home! you especially love that liam is at your school as well. i love being able to watch the two of you walk hand-in-hand up the walkway to school. you will miss not having liam around next year. you aren’t always the sweetest to your brothers but i know you love them so.
quinn- you make mommy and daddy laugh with all your little antics, i am not sure where you got your little sense of humor but you are one funny dude! you love to dance and sing and will often giggle for no reason at all. there is not a day that goes by that you don’t make me laugh – your expressions and mannerisms are priceless.
oh -and if there is mud or dirt around you are sure to play in it. you will come to me with your dirty little hands in awe as to how they got that way.
i thank you quinn for making me a better mommy – you have taught me how to slow down and be more in the moment with you. to really listen to what you are trying to say or understand what you are needing. sometimes all you need is a hug and a kiss or to cuddle on the couch to make things better.
i love you with all my heart
~mommy
