i am a little behind on updating my blog 馃檪 聽but now that the holiday craziness is over i am working hard to catch up!
i recently took this amazing class through clickinmoms聽that was all about natural light. it opened my eyes to a whole new world! i find myself looking for light and the different types in everything i do – which drives me crazy sometimes, i wish i could just drive down the street and not think but instead i find myself looking for open shade and thinking about back-lighting and golden hour! i stop at a stop sign in my neighborhood and think to myself, ‘what a great place to capture light’- who knew there were so many great places if you can just get in the right spot. during this class i was taking pictures daily if not more and i knew i needed a cooperative subject – so my kiddos were not an option. not only would they not sit still for me, forget me trying to angle them in just the right way to get good catch-lights in their eyes or remove shadows off their faces. thankfully my neighbor’s little girl liked nothing more than to sit and have her picture taken. i am so very thankful for her- i wanted to share a few shots i took for the class. enjoy!
this was taken in my garage- who knew that your garage was just a giant reflector. the light is amazing…
i was able to grab this shot of liam- he was supposed to be resting during quiet time but was a willing subject if that meant no nap for him 馃檪
and this one of my little man – he will do anything for a football. this is an example of one of those ‘ah ha’ moments about light. taken during the golden hour (sunset) with the sun setting behind him- known as back-lighting. makes him look like an angel. HA!
