This rainbow baby newborn photo session in Fort Worth, Texas was truly something special for me to document! I have such a soft spot in my heart for families who have gone through any sort of loss, and I love getting to capture their first memories with their rainbow baby. Evie was conceived through IVF, and her mom wanted to include the ultrasound in their session to forever remember the start of her life. We also decided to incorporate a wooden circle and rainbow from Evie’s nursery into the session. These small details will someday likely be tucked away in storage as Evie gets older, but these photos will remain accessible forever.
I love getting individual shots of mom with baby, as well as dad with baby. For Evie’s session, I particularly love the shot where her mom is holding her hands to show off how tiny she is as a newborn. I also always love capturing dads with their daughters, as it is the beginning of such a special and tender relationship. There is nothing that tugs at the heart strings more than a father with his newborn daughter. We were all so happy that we got some shots where Evie was awake and giving us a few little smiles! The color scheme that we went with for Evie’s newborn session was a mix of pink, cream and blush. These colors complimented mom and dads outfits so well and made the entire session feel really cohesive.
